AMBAR guide
This article provides high-level sexual-health information for adults, not individualized medical, legal, or relationship advice. Follow current public-health guidance and product instructions, and consult a qualified professional when unsure.
Reject the universal-cleaning shortcut
Adult products vary in material, seams, motors, charging ports, coatings, and water resistance. A method that is appropriate for one item can damage another or fail to reach areas that matter. Use the model-specific instructions and contact the manufacturer when the material or water-resistance claim is unclear.
Treat sharing as a separate decision
The NHS notes that shared sex toys can transmit infections and advises cleaning between users and using a fresh barrier. This article intentionally does not turn that principle into a universal procedure. The product shape, material, intended use, and manufacturer's instructions all affect what is appropriate; a sexual-health clinic can answer individual risk questions.
Dry and store according to the product
Storage should protect an item from contamination, incompatible materials, heat, and damage while respecting battery guidance. Do not improvise a sealed storage method when an item may still hold moisture. Keep its instructions, charger identification, and purchase information together so later care is based on facts rather than memory.
Know when care is no longer enough
Stop using an item if its surface, seal, cable, battery, or cleanability has changed, or if the manufacturer can no longer identify it. Symptoms or a possible exposure belong with a clinician or sexual-health service, not an extra round of household cleaning. A careful first purchase makes future care easier because the information remains traceable.
